Audio - Gallifrey: War Room 1: Allegiance

A familiar face returns to the Time War’s battlegrounds in the first Gallifrey: War Room box set of epic full-cast audio adventures, due for release by Big Finish in July ...

Press Release

Since 2004, Big Finish has chronicled the political tension of Gallifrey — the Time Lord’s native planet — through an ever-expanding audio range. Gallifrey: Time War 4 (2021) marked the end of an era, with Romana lost and Rassilon in charge. Now a new chapter exploring the heart of Gallifrey's manoeuvres begins.

In four brand-new adventures, Leela (Louise Jameson) is out for revenge against the monstrous Daleks (Nicholas Briggs) for taking those closest to her. Also returning to the Time War is the General (Ken Bones), Rasmus (Chris Jarman), Ollistra (Carolyn Pickles), Veklin (Beth Chalmers) and... Seán Carlsen as Narvin!

After believing Narvin was killed in the Time War, Leela is reunited with the beloved former CIA agent in The First Days of Phaidon. But a lot has changed...

The incredible cast also includes Nicholas Rowe (Young Sherlock Holmes, The Crown)
Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel, To All the Boys: Always and Forever), Daon Broni (Teachers, Doctors), Zora Bishop (Angela Black, Coronation Street), and Peter Bankole (Peaky Blinders).

Gallifrey is at war. At the heart of the Capitol, the War Room co-ordinates the fight against the Daleks.

Leela has been forced into service, alongside the General and his soldiers, taking orders from Cardinals Rasmus and Ollistra.

But this being Gallifrey, politics are never forgotten. Some serve Rassilon, some serve themselves, and some have their own cause. The Time War will test them all.

The four action-packed adventures in this box set are as follows:

Last Days of Freme by Lou Morgan

Leela is assigned to the War Room by Lord Rassilon himself. There, she finds an earlier incarnation of Ollistra, restored from the Matrix to oversee operations. She has a mission for Leela, and will go to any lengths to ensure compliance…

The Passenger by David Llewellyn

Cardinal Rasmus arrives in the War Room and vies for control with Ollistra. But first, they have a mystery to solve: a sole survivor from a Dalek attack has returned home – but is he a hero, or a threat?

Collateral Victims by Alfie Shaw

Rasmus, Leela and Veklin are dispatched into dangerous territory: a place where time itself is in tatters. One TARDIS and its crew has already been lost – will the Norvis system claim another?

The First Days of Phaidon by Sophie Iles

Phaidon was one of the first worlds destroyed in the Time War – but now it is back. Daleks and Time Lords race to the planet’s new location: something has arrived which could turn the course of the war. And for Leela, an even greater shock awaits…

Seán Carlsen said, “When we concluded Time War 4 I honestly did think, maybe this really is the end of Gallifrey and the end of Narvin’s journey. I hoped and figured, perhaps he can still make the occasional guest appearance in the ongoing Doctor Who stories but if it’s the end then it’s been a great run… and then Heather [Challands] got in touch to talk about something called Gallifrey: War Room!

“I can’t tell you how welcome that email was because playing Narvin means a lot to me. I’ve grown to love him and his relationship with Leela. However, this is new territory as Leela is working for The General and for Gallifrey’s War Room so are we still on the same side?! It’s the beginning of a very exciting new chapter!”

Producer Heather Challands added, “Seán Carlsen has made Narvin into such a beloved character, it never crossed my mind that he wouldn't return! The friendship forged with Leela has been hard-won and it was wonderful to reunite the two in Gallifrey: War Room. I can't thank Seán enough for his passion, performance and trust.”
